Interests
December 2006 - June 2007:
BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Citizen Journalist
I was a volunteer journalist on Citizen 1000 scheme, contributing as a guest on the Vic Minnet evening show in June 2007 on which I discussed local issues and music.

December 2006 - June 2007:
Travel Editor for student newspaper The Sanctuary
I edited travel articles from writers for a monthly publication, maintaining good contact with writers and the editorial team. In particular, I encouraged articles for local travel about students’ home towns in the UK, and around Warwickshire, to complement the more typical ‘exotic holiday’ articles.

June 2006 – June 2007:
Secretary for Warwick Drama

I organised exec. meetings, took minutes and acted as a link between all the drama societies and the Students’ Union to aid communication among them. I set up a website for the society, created a timetable of events, emailed members and acted as a focal point for all students’ drama-related queries.

March 2006 – June 2007:
Vice President of the Warwick University English Literature Society, and Secretary from 2005 to 2006.

I liaised closely with the President and Students’ Union to organise all aspects of the society. This included organising second-hand book stalls, theatre trips and socials. I introduced student poetry readings and organised a trip to the RSC. As secretary I sent out weekly emails to members with information about the society and upcoming events, organised weekly exec. meetings and took minutes.

2004 – 2007:
Member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain

I was involved in a summer programme of workshops, working closely with a team of young people and professionals. I have acted in various performances at A-level and more recently at University. I was involved in a radio play that was broadcast on FM radio across Coventry, and have played major roles in productions for Warwick University’s Drama Society.

Journalism:
I wrote regularly for the Travel section of the two university newspapers The Boar and The Sanctuary.

Travel:
As a keen traveller I enjoy experiencing different cultures and ways of life. I have just returned from a five month trip going solo around Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand: a fantastic experience which really boosted my sense of independence and self-confidence. In 2005 I went walking in the Pyrenees, in 2006 I travelled around southern Spain and in 2007 I visited Venice, Madrid and New York.

Music:
I play violin to grade 7 standard and have been a member of the Winchester Youth Orchestra and Warwick University Symphony Orchestra.

Running:
I am a regular runner and raised money for charity in Race for Life 2006 and 2007.

Languages:
I have a basic knowledge of Swedish and French.
